Our Mission

Our mission is to provide healthy and caring services for animals while in our care.

We currently do not have intake facilities. We cannot take in surrenders or strays. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we hope to change that in the near future.

Our History

We are a new 501c3 non-profit humane society organization operating in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. Our organization was founded in November, 2021. We are currently working to build a facility and surgery center and hope to open in the near future.

Our Staff

Mary Reece, Director

Mary has been involved with rescue for the last 10 years. She discovered that East Feliciana Parish needed pet services so she was involved in starting the Humane Society of the Felicianas in 2020. It has been a long journey, but she is moving forward. Mary has a wonderful husband that supports her with the shelter. They have been married for over 20 years and have four beautiful children and seven grandchildren. When not working with saving animals, Mary enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling and caring for our many dogs and cats at home.

Libby Foret, Volunteer & Supporter

Libby has been involved with TNR of cats for many years. As a result, she and her husband have 9 cats and 1 dog. She has been married to her husband, Paul, for 30+ years. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, music, crafts and curling up with a good book. She became involved with the Humane Society of the Felicianas after discovering there was no shelter in place. Being a huge animal lover, she started to get involved in community efforts to rally for a shelter.
